Due to natural variations in the walnut sourced by our woodworker, we occasionally have plinths with especially striking grain patterns. This particular plinth features beautiful figuring that catches the light in a manner reminiscent of flame or tiger maple—something that is difficult to fully capture in photographs.

This piece is ideal for those who truly appreciate fine woodworking and the unique character that select walnut can display.

This is the only Plinth we have currently with this unique figuring. It was freshly crafted and never sold.

While Technics makes some of the most outstanding turntables in the industry, we've noticed that the metallic industrial Japanese look just doesn't work in some living rooms. 

This SkyFi designed and commissioned plinth allows the SL-1300G, SL-1200G, SL-SL-1200GR, SL-1200GR2 and SL-1500C to blend nicely into a decor requiring a neutral wood tone. It adds just the right amount of warmth while maintaining a sleek sophisticated look. 

The plinth is constructed of the best solid wood we could locate. Each piece is carefully chosen so that the cleanest and most attractive part of the wood is visible. Many linear feet are discarded in this process that just don't pass the test. 

The wood is routed to a precise dimension so that it slips into the 'table from above and makes contact with the slight upper lip, making the complete package look perfectly integrated. 

Installation takes just a few seconds and requires no tools.
The plinth features two strips of foam that provide a snug friction fit so that nothing else is required to install. Just place your turntable where you'd like it, level the turntable feet, and drop in the plinth from above.

*Note the plinth does not allow for a hinged cover to be used, and the receiving hinges will need to be removed from the turntable by unfastening the hinge screws.

Frankly, one should never use a turntable with a hinged cover in place anyways as it acts like a large sail or microphone picking up all the acoustic energy in the air. This system allows you to use your cover by simply placing it on top like many other turntables do. 

There is a carefully designed and cut out section in the rear of the plinth that allows a passthrough for both OEM power and audio cables, with space for much larger higher-end cables.

These are hand crafted by a local NJ artisan so they will be available in low quantities. 

Two wood finishes, American Walnut and Black Ash, are currently available for purchase with or without the front Technics logo etched into the wood.

More finishes to come at a later time based on demand.
