This is a complete set including both speakers, manuals, accessories, and original boxes.
Vandersteen Audio always has been and always will be a technology company. Vandersteen speakers for decades were built around Richard Vandersteen’s patented reflection-free aerodynamic midrange drivers, which remain paragons of low-distortion musicality. Minimal-baffle cabinets, bi-wiring, resonance-reducing spiked feet, battery-biased crossovers, high-pass-filtered powered subwoofers and powered-bass speakers with built-in room EQ are just some of the innovations that originated with Vandersteen Audio’s speaker products.
These speakers came to us from the original owner.
Both solid state and tube should pair well with these speakers. Manufacturer recommends a minimum 30W. Sensitivity is 87db. From the manual:
"The Quatro is designed for use with amplifiers rated from 30 to 200 watts per channel into 8 ohms. These amplifiers will provide ample power for realistic listening levels in most situations. Amplifiers with less than 75 watts should be tested with the volume control half the way up (the point where most amplifiers clip) to verify that the system can achieve realistic listening levels with- out stress. Amplifiers with more than 200 watts must be used with caution due to the increased potential for speaker damage if they are misused or an accident occurs."

The SkyFi Testing Process for Speakers:
Our speaker evaluation process starts with a visual inspection of all drivers. We are looking for damaged or deteriorating woofer surrounds, dented tweeter domes, and cone damage. We also inspect the speaker connection points for loose or broken connectors.
After the initial visual inspection we connect the speakers to a reference amplifier with our preferred test tracks. With the speakers placed with proper distance we listen to each driver to make sure that they are producing the intended frequencies with no signs of distortion or rattle. During listening tests with test tracks we check for proper stereo imaging and bass response at various listening levels. If there are any audible signs of issues, the speakers are taken to the bench where we perform a frequency sweep to isolate the issue so that it can be resolved by component repair or replacement.
