Revel Ultima Salon Speakers, Stereophile Speaker of the Year
In 1999 Stereophile named these speaker of the year. Not a small feat considering the completion was fierce at the time.
These beauties came to us from the original owner who had them in the same spot since new.
They were babied and kept under covers when not in use. I suspect that’s why they look brand new with not a scratch, scuff or fingerprint on them.
These are the original version which originally retailed for $15k.
All drivers work as they should and we have tested them with a sweep generator throughout the frequency range, and boy do they rattle the room under 30hz... Holy Cow.
Few speakers in our shop have been able to deliver this sort of range and impact while not sounding harsh.
There is a wonderful review on Stereophile for these, so I won’t go much into the sonics.
This sample is finished in a dark wood and the pictures don’t do justice to the quality of the finish or attention to detail.
There are three 8” mica and carbon filled poly woofers, one 6.5” mid bass driver, and one .75” dome tweeter in the lower enclosure.
The top enclosure houses a 4” titanium inverted dome midrange and a 1.1” aluminum alloy dome tweeter.
Crossovers on each pair are hand made and matched for the pair.
The back panel allows for single wire, bi-wire, or bi-amping, along with adjustments for tweeter compensation. A tweakers delight!
Includes the spikes and spike covers.
