General:
Nordost makes some of the best cables on the market. Their cables are very well made and are long lasting with durable terminations. The Heimdall 2 is absolutely no exception. This cable is 1.3m in length.
Configured DIN → RCA, ideal for high-resolution vinyl playback. This cable delivers the speed, transparency, and musicality the Heimdall 2 series is known for—an outstanding upgrade for any tonearm and phono stage combination. It would be a good match for instance for a Technics Sl-1000R.
- Ultra-low capacitance for optimal cartridge performance
- Exceptional clarity, detail retrieval, and channel separation
- Tight bass, open mids, and extended, clean highs
- Significantly reduces noise and hum often found with lesser phono cables
Tested and functioning perfectly in our shop.
From Nordost:
The Heimdall 2 Tonearm Cable + is virtually noiseless, with rapid transmission speed and the highest bandwidth capabilities, thanks to its twisted pair design, individualized shielding, and Nordost’s proprietary Micro Mono-Filament technology. It also employs a separately shielded, silver-plated bond wire, wrapped in Micro Mono-Filament, to minimize noise from the line. However, the most exciting aspect of this cable design is its revolutionary grounding solution. Nordost has introduced detachable ground whips, complete with Micro Mono-Filament technology, that further eliminate any noise that could be introduced during signal transfer, regardless of the unique construction of the components found in each individual sound system.
SkyFi Cosmetic Notes:
This cable has light wear. The heat shrink with the branding and serial number is slightly worn. Overall the condition is very good.

Testing Process:
We start by doing a detailed physical inspection under light magnification to asses the cantilever condition, its position in the cartridge body, and the condition of the suspension.
We also inspect any coil wires and the output connections to make sure it hasn't been strained. We then perform a light cleaning with specialized agents and very carefully blow dry with compressed air.
Following that, we conduct a thorough examination using our Wild Heerbrugg professional microscope. From there we can asses the wear and quality of the stylus and determine how much use it has seen, and if there are any mechanical issues. We can also identify if it needs further cleaning or care.
We then move the cartridge to a digital microscope where we take photos of the cantilever and stylus for future reference.
Next we move to the test bench where we can check for continuity of each channel and resistance.
On certain cartridges (or if the technician feels necessary) we install the cartridge on a turntable and run several test records to ascertain tacking ability, distortion, and compliance.
