General:
The Hana ML is a fantastic cartridge in the wide range of available Hana cartridges. It's also one of our favorites to pair with Technics turntables, but it will work well with just about any model.

Features include a low output MC (Moving-Coil) design, a nude microline stylus, and a delrin cartridge body.

This cartridge is in Pre-Loved condition and was inspected under our dedicated shop microscope, plus tested on our turntable calibration rig/ It sounds beautiful. 

The current MSRP on this cartridge is $1,200, offering you a savings of $400 for an almost new cartridge.

M Series Nude Microline Stylus – Higher Specification Part

Befitting its name, the M Series uses a Nude Microline stylus that closely mimics the shape of a record-cutting stylus, allowing it to fit more precisely within the vinyl groove. This improves tracking performance and captures delicate musical details with greater accuracy, resulting in enhanced frequency reproduction, stereo imaging, and overall resolution.

High-Purity Copper Wire – Higher Specification Part

The ML utilizes very high-purity copper wire for coil winding, paired with a newly developed low-impedance generator. This design optimizes performance and improves compatibility with a broader range of phono preamplifiers.

Delrin® Cartridge Body – Advanced Materials

The M Series cartridge body is injection-molded from Delrin®, a high-tech engineering polymer chosen for its superior mechanical properties. Its excellent resonance-damping characteristics help reveal low-level detail while improving dynamic expression and overall musicality.

Cryogenic Processing – Unique Technical Treatment

The M Series benefits from cryogenic processing, a cold-annealing treatment performed at temperatures approaching absolute zero. This process restructures metal components at the molecular level, particularly within the Alnico-based magnetic circuit that generates the cartridge signal.

Components receiving this treatment include the front yoke, center, and rear magnetic assemblies. The result is a more precise and controlled magnetic flux field, improving linearity and contributing to a more natural and refined musical presentation.

Brass Cap with Threaded Fittings – Superior Mechanical Interface

The Delrin® body incorporates an integral machined brass cap that provides constrained-layer damping while increasing cartridge mass to 9.5 grams. This enhances compatibility with a wider variety of tonearms and turntables.

Integrated metal threaded fittings eliminate the need for mounting nuts, making installation easier while creating a more secure mechanical interface between cartridge and headshell. The result is improved bass performance, greater dynamic impact, and enhanced overall stability.

Testing Process:
We start by doing a detailed physical inspection under light magnification to asses the cantilever condition, its position in the cartridge body, and the condition of the suspension.

We also inspect any coil wires and the output connections to make sure it hasn't been strained. We then perform a light cleaning with specialized agents and very carefully blow dry with compressed air.

Following that, we conduct a thorough examination using our Wild Heerbrugg professional microscope. From there we can asses the wear and quality of the stylus and determine how much use it has seen, and if there are any mechanical issues. We can also identify if it needs further cleaning or care.

We then move the cartridge to a digital microscope where we take photos of the cantilever and stylus for future reference.

Next we move to the test bench where we can check for continuity of each channel and resistance.

On certain cartridges (or if the technician feels necessary) we install the cartridge on a turntable and run several test records to ascertain tacking ability, distortion, and compliance.
