Thorens TD-125 MKII with Linn Tonearm and New Sumiko Cartridge

Features:

This is the second and improved version of the TD-125, which was the top of the line Thorens from this era.  Don't confuse this model with lesser models like the TD-160 which had inferior construction and components.  This is a well built, heavy table, using a removable armboard and sprung platter/tonearm configuration. 

The MKII version deleted the integrated arm lifter which was unreliable and did not allow for other arms to be used.  

The tonearm is a venerable Linn Basik Plus made in the UK featuring all the necessary adjustments, while being easy to use and tune. 

This is a very heavy table, close to 30 lbs, but has locking screws built in that compress the plinth and allow for safe shipping.  Arm will be removed for shipping which is super easy to install and will remain calibrated.

We've installed and calibrated (which is a lengthy and detailed job utilizing the best tools and techniques in the industry) a brand new Sumiko Olympia cartridge which sells by itself for $200.

The armboard was refinished in a carbon fiber coating which looks awesome and gives the table a touch of modern feel.   

There is a built in strobe and the ability to fine-tune speed adjustments which is pretty cool.  

Cosmetic Condition:

Good but not perfect.  This table is very presentable, while there are a few spots where the veneer has chipped or there may be a few scratches on the wood.  The other portions are very good and consistent with a table this age.  The two control switches have a bit of wear on them but are working perfectly. 

Tonearm is perfect and looks new. 

Working Condition:

Tested and tuned and working to perfection.  Tracks both 33 and 45 speeds accurately and with minimal wow and flutter.
