I lusted after this CD transport while I was in college where it received the nickname "the toaster".

Thinking back I'm not quite sure why since it doesn't quite resemble a toaster in its form factor. Perhaps it was just because of its unusual shape at a time where all CD player were wide and low.

It took years for me to save up enough money to purchase a used one, but once I did it served as my primary player for almost 20 years. I couldn't find a single fault with it and it wasn't until I eventually moved on to the Sony SCD-1 flagship SACD/CD player that I replaced it.

This CD transport was tested thoroughly where it performed admirably. It tracks fast and accurately, and the display is bright and clear.
