Fantastic solution to power your full 5.1 home theater or just your front L/C/R soundstage - and when we say power, we mean POWER.

You can configure this amplifier in 6, 5, 4, or 3 channel operation.

Look at the heat sink fins on this beast!  And for once there are "handles" on either side of the sinks to push/pull this amp into place without scratching up your hands.

It's capable of pushing 60 watts x 6 channels into 8 ohms (at 20-20 kHz, < 0.03% THD) with ease, or 150 watts x 3 channels into 8 ohms (at 20-20 kHz, < 0.1% THD) in bridged mono mode.

The front panel contains a single understated button for power control, along with six LED's showing bridged mono operation and protection operation.

Out back there are single ended RCA-type inputs from your preamp/processor, a 12V trigger with switchable on/off signal sensing, a signal link output to pass-through the input signal to another component, and speaker connectors that accept bare wire, connector lugs, or banana connectors.

Further Details From Rotel:

Stereo/Bridged Mono Mode Selection
It is useful to think of the RMB-1066 as three stereo amplifiers in a single chassis. Each of the three pair of amplifier channels can be operated in Stereo or Bridged Mono mode.

Stereo mode: Conventional 2-channel stereo operation for a pair of amplifier channels. Minimum speaker load: 4 ohms.

Bridged Mono mode: Bridged Mono mode more than doubles the power into a single speaker. Minimum speaker load: 8 ohms.

The two modes are selected by three rear panel switches, one for each pair of channels. Stereo or Bridged Mono configuration is independent for each pair of channels. You can configure some pairs of channels in Stereo mode and others in Bridged Mono mode.

The RMB-1066 multi-channel power amplifier is an enormously flexible unit intended primarily for use in surround systems and delivers high power in a variety of configurations.

The power supply and output circuits are configured for exceptional reserve capability and stability.

In six channel mode, the RMB-1066 delivers 60 watts RMS each (20 Hz to 20 kHz @0.03%THD into 8 ohms).

In five channel mode (one channel quiescent), power increases to 70 watts RMS each measured by the same demanding standards.

Amplifier pairs can be bridged to develop 150 watts x 3 for almost half a kilowatt of output power.

Three rear panel switches (one two-way and two three-way) make bridging easy and also link the inputs via internal "daisy chain " connections with a single source, thus simplifying system wiring. Input level controls, strategically placed between front panel heat sink fins and an extensive 6 LED indicator array ease system adjustment and monitoring.

12 volt trigger operation and a detachable IEC power cord directly address demanding custom installation requirements while custom brass speaker terminals provide full contact power transfer.

Our Testing Process For Amplifiers (Solid State) At SkyFi:

We start with a visual inspection of all internal components to make sure there are no signs of stress or aging. Capacitors are checked for telltale sings of bulging or leaking, resistors are checked for signs of overheating or cracking, and transistors are checked for signs of stress or damage.

We then power up the unit carefully and run a simple 1k sine wave while monitoring the output on an oscilloscope for signs of distortion or noise. Finally, we run the amplifier to its full rated power into the appropriate resistive load provided by our Sencore amplifier tester. If there is an issue, it will usually be noticeable at this point. If everything reads clean, we will often test for THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) measured by our Keithley distortion meter, and compare it against the original manufacturers specifications. The amplifier then remains powered on to "burn in" on our test bench for a few hours to make sure there are no heat related issues. If there are balanced inputs available they will be also be tested.

Final testing involves pushing actual music thorough the amplifier. We've learned over time that some issues are only noticeable to a trained ear while listening to familiar source material. Our test bench has reference vintage Kef speakers that we're very familiar with which quickly reveal any discrepancies. Some amplifiers will then move into our listening room where they are tested with our in-house reference speakers of choice.
