General:
One of the cleanest and most complete D-23's we've seen. Features the Pioneer JA-R101 rack shelf (not easy to find) and original box (even rarer).
We found this piece to work beautifully, just needed to have the controls cleaned and proper operation confirmed.
Super flexible and capable of dividing signals to most speakers that do not feature a built-in crossover.
Cosmetic Condition:
• The D-23 itself shows wear on the right and left sides of the faceplate from being mounted in the rack bracket.
• The Pioneer logo on the front plate seems to have been sanded or polished off at some point in the past, perhaps to hide from the public that a piece of Pioneer gear was being used in a professional application?
• Light blemishes to faceplate and knobs.
More from Pioneer:
A crossover network that emphasizes various functions and basic performance so that you can enjoy a wide range of multi-amplifiers from 2-way to 4-way.
The buffer amplifier of the main circuit is a pure complimentary service SEPP circuit configuration with ± 2 power supply using a pair of low-noise transistors with uniform characteristics. This reduces even-order harmonic distortion components.
In addition, the input impedance is set high and the output impedance is set low to prevent the influence of the CR element of the filter.
In addition, the power supply supplies high voltages of + 30 V and -22V by the left and right independent constant voltage circuits, ensuring a wide dynamic range and eliminating mutual interference between channels.
The bandwidth can be divided into four sections, Low/Mid-Low/Mid-High/High, and up to four ways of multiplexing can be achieved.
The cutoff frequency is 11-point selection for each 1/3-octave band, and high cut and low cut are independent.
The level control for each band is a 1-dB-step attenuator.
The cutoff slope can be selected from 3 types : 6, 12 and 18 (dB/oct).
For 6dB/oct. and 18dB/oct., the attenuation at the crossover point is -3dB. However, for 12dB/oct, when crossing at -3dB, the characteristics may increase due to the phase relationship. Therefore, only 12dB/oct is used as a -6dB cross.
All slope switches are equipped with a flat position except for the low cut of the High position. By utilizing this, various types of multi-amplifier systems from 2 way to 4 way can be freely configured.
