The MXA60 was offered for a limited time as a special anniversary edition, celebrating McIntosh excellence in Binghamton NY from 1949 - 2009.

Original MSRP was $7500.

It's a complete HiFi system featuring a tube preamp, solid state amp, speakers, SACD/CD Player, and AM/FM Stereo tuner. There's also a pre-out to drive your favorite powered subwoofer.

This MXA60 was fully reviewed and carefully serviced in-house to ensured proper operation in its new home.

We replaced the rubber belts on the CD transport, and also replaced the remote control.

Your purchase includes the MXA60 HiFi system (preamp/amp center unit & speakers), RAA2 AM antenna, basic unbranded FM dipole antenna, a remote.

Plus we'll also include basic speaker cables in a 5' length plus a power cord to get you listening right away.

McIntosh Performance Features Include:
• Vacuum Tube Preamplifier
The preamplifier section includes vacuum tube amplification. The vacuum tube is illuminated amber during the warmup period and green during operation.

• Balanced and Unbalanced Inputs
The Balanced Input allows the connection of a source component using long cable lengths without a loss in sound quality. The Unbalanced input has high sensitivity for compatibility with battery powered personal players.

• Power Output
The MXA60 consists of a 75 watts per channel stereo Power Amplifier with less than 0.05% distortion. The Power Amplifier uses Thermal Trak Output Transistors for lower distortion and cool operation. The amplifier bias is precisely controlled over a wide range of music conditions

Constructed in celebration of our 60th year in business, and wrapped in our trademark casework of stainless steel, black glass and blue lights, the MXA60 Integrated Audio System challenges old notions about what constitutes serious audio hardware. Capable of true-to-life sound reproduction that belies its diminutive size.

AMPLIFIER AND PREAMPLIFIER
At the core of the MXA60 is a conservatively rated 75 watt per channel, complementary- balanced amplifier with traditional ‘blue-eyes’ watt-meters. Very low noise solid state circuitry and a vacuum tube assisted line stage give the MXA60 the sound quality and transparency for which McIntosh components are noted.

CD/SACD PLAYER
The CD/SACD player features an all-metal drive mechanism set in a heavy, die-cast base that resists resonance for superior read accuracy while 24-bit, 192 kHz Burr Brown DACS deliver wide dynamic range and extremely low distortion. The MXA60 drive reads SACD, hybrid SACD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW discs.

AM/FM TUNER
A software-controlled, digital AM/FM/RBDS tuner combines outstanding reception capability with remarkable sound quality. A McIntosh RAA2 remote AM antenna module (included) provides dramatically superior AM reception when installed remotely.

LOUDSPEAKERS
Specially designed 2-way loudspeakers, featuring select driver elements housed in custom extruded aluminum cabinetry, achieve an unusually rich and full sized level of performance. Compact cast aluminum enclosures are designed to inhibit resonance and provide a tilt option to match the swept stance of the electronics. The loudspeakers are finished in a luxurious, high gloss piano black.
