Little bother to the venerable MPC1500, and a great alternative if you have a McIntosh system and a smaller budget.

A must to properly control and protect your system.

This sample came to us on a trade from a great customer who takes meticulous care of his equipment.

• Illuminated Multifunction Display
The comprehensive On-Screen Display makes it easy to perform setup. The Front Panel display indicates Voltage and Current at all times of connected McIntosh Components along with other operating functions.

• AC Line Surge Protection & EMI Filtering
The McIntosh MPC500 utilizes the finest, most sophisticated surge suppression technology available. It incorporates TPMOVs that are thermally protected from abnormal over voltage occurrences and have four times the surge capability of the common MOVs (Metal Oxide Varistor) devices used by other companies. The MPC500 also offers EMI Filtering from the AC Line source for the components connected to it.

• Low Voltage DC Surge Protection
The McIntosh MPC500 utilizes GDT (Gas Discharge Tubes), PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient thermistors) and TVS (Transient Voltage Suppression) components to protect your low voltage devices. This cascade approach provides a lower clamping voltage with increased surge capability.

• Over/Under Voltage Protection
The McIntosh MPC500 Over/Under Voltage Protection circuitry prevents possible damage to your connected components by continuously monitoring the input voltage and then switching off the rear outlets during a fault.

• Power Control Assignment
The Power Control input connection provides convenient switching ON/OFF of any connected components by removing/connecting the power from the desired outlet. All the Power Control ports are individually configured allowing for extreme customization.

Protect your home audio investment with the MPC500 Power Controller. Featuring cascaded surge protection, the MPC500 delivers AC power line surge protection, such as from a lightning strike, as well as protecting low voltage devices against secondary surges and spikes that can occur after the initial event.

AC power line protection is accomplished with the use of a thermally protected metal-oxide varistor (TPMOV) – which is far safer than a traditional MOV – that provides you with Line to Neutral protection. For secondary surge events, the MPC500 provides protection for your ethernet, coaxial, and other low voltage devices via Gas Discharge Tubes (GDT), Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistors and Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) components.

Also included in the MPC500 is electromagnetic interference (EMI) filtering of the AC line and over/under voltage protection, which will switch off the rear receptacles to keep your connected devices safe from trying to operate at undesired voltage levels.

The MPC500 includes either 8 Type B1 (a.k.a. NEMA 5-15R) or 4 Type F1 (a.k.a. CEE 7/3 or “Schuko”) receptacles; only the appropriate version is available in each individual country to ensure compatibility with local power systems. Control of each receptacle can be configured to your preferences via the rear panel Power Control ports or through the setup menus on the front panel.

The front panel display can list input voltage, the amount of current being drawn through the receptacles, or total (apparent) power. Regardless of receptacle type, all versions of the MPC500 feature the timeless McIntosh black glass front panel, illuminated logo, control knobs, and aluminum end caps.
