I've always loved the sound of the SL-600's. They are laid back, pleasant, and can fill a good size room.
Problem is the rubberized finish, which was clever at the time, decomposes over time. I wanted to rescue these and make them look a bit more avant-garde.
So I took them apart, removed the finish, and sanded them to reveal a restomod looking metallic hue. Kind of industrial. I love they way they look so I went no further.
Functionally they are perfect with all drivers working as they should. The back terminals accept only banana plugs so please reach out if you need help converting your cables.
Additionally, our price includes UPS shipping to your door within the Lower 48 US States.

More from Celestion:
In 1983 the revolution was completed by the addition of an aluminium honeycomb cabinet which provided a remarkably high stiffness/weight ratio.
The Celestion SL600 set new standards at the audiophile end of the market, selling particularly well in Japan, and winning numerous awards around the world. The English company's Graham Bank and Gordon Hadaway decided that, as the main source of coloration in a box speaker is the box, they would effectively do away with it by making it from the Aerolam material used in airplane construction.
The copper-dome tweeter used in the SL600 and its wooden box SL6 sibling also pioneered the resurgence of interest in moving-coil drivers with pistonic metal diaphragms.
The Celestion SL600 speakers provide outstanding imaging capabilities with an incredibly smooth and detailed midrange and a fast, low fundament which is enough for all but the biggest orchestral works.
The midrange is absolutely superb and the treble very controlled. The bass extension isn't the lowest, but what is there is beautifully timed. One of the biggest advantages over other seemingly similar two-way designs is that the soundstage does not fold in when the music gets challenging. And, it is among the few metal-dome tweeter loudspeakers that do not provoke listening fatigue in any way.
The Celestion SL600 produces extremely good imagery with very good depth. Eventually till now, the Celestion SL600 is on Stereophile's list as one of the "Best top 25 speakers of past 40 years"

The SkyFi Testing Process for Speakers:
Our speaker evaluation process starts with a visual inspection of all drivers. We are looking for damaged or deteriorating woofer surrounds, dented tweeter domes, and cone damage. We also inspect the speaker connection points for loose or broken connectors.
After the initial visual inspection we connect the speakers to a reference amplifier with our preferred test tracks. With the speakers placed with proper distance we listen to each driver to make sure that they are producing the intended frequencies with no signs of distortion or rattle. During listening tests with test tracks we check for proper stereo imaging and bass response at various listening levels. If there are any audible signs of issues, the speakers are taken to the bench where we perform a frequency sweep to isolate the issue so that it can be resolved by component repair or replacement.
