Super clean IV-SJ recorder from Nagra. It's original official title was "Self-Contained Instrumentation Tape Recorder for Scientific Analysis."

Other than vinyl, this is the best way to enjoy analog recordings at home. Nothing digital comes even close in our opinion.

Built like a Swiss watch this Nagra is an absolute work of machining art and precision. From the solid aluminum machined parts, to the ingenious design, every bit of this machine feels and operates wonderfully. If you haven't had a chance to play with one of these machines you will be amazed.

This example comes with a super clean acrylic top (most have cracked hinges from a tough life in commercial use), a clean battery compartment (most have corrosion from batteries failing), super responsive VU meter, precise tape engagement, and heads sowing little wear.

The aluminum finish throughout shows very little use or wear, indicating this unit had an easy life. You see, most machines were used professionally in the field as recording instruments for film and TV which almost always show in wear and tear.

Tested completely for both playback and recording and working as it should. Includes the acrylic cover, a super nice aluminum take-up reel, and a custom made power supply.
