These were my reference speakers for several years. 

The midrange is hard to beat, resulting in some of the most realistic guitar strings and saxophone you'll ever hear from *any* speaker.

They do an especially amazing job with jazz and vocals and will raise the hairs on the back of your neck!

Not so great for super complex orchestra pieces as they will get overwhelmed. And while they have realistic amount of base, you'll want to match with a good subwoofer to get full range "impactful" sound.

CLS speakers in general, while being able to reproduce music with outstanding realism, do not play loud.   If you like your music loud, the CLS's are not for you, and you'r likely to damage or distort them. 

These are model IIz, which is the finest out there. They are in impeccable shape, both electronically and cosmetically, with only the slightest signs of use.
