Cardas Clear AES/EBU Cable

Clear Digital AES/EBU employs a perfectly symmetrical tri-axial geometry by using air tubes to separate and suspend our PTFE taped, Matched Propagation conductors. Additional air tubes are arranged outside the core of the cable to place the braided shield in the perfect position. Additional shielding is provided by a carbon impregnated semi-conductive PTFE tape which works with the shield to dissipate noise.

Termination Options:
Clear AES/EBU comes terminated with Cardas CG-XLR plugs.

Design/Construction
Conductors: Matched Propagation Kevlar core, ultra fine Grade 1, 99.9999% pure oxygen free copper with SPN clear coat(Litz), gauge sizes scaled to Golden Ratio proportions and range from 41 AWG to 39 AWG. Cross-field layer geometry, insulated in ultra thin extruded PTFE jacket.

Geometry: Equilateral triad 3 conductors with anti-static LDPE air-tubes bound with carbon impregnated PTFE tape wrap. Specific geometry to achieve the 110 ohm AES/EBU standard. Finished in an ultra soft extruded TPR jacket.

Gauge: 3 x 25.5 AWG

Outside Diameter: 0.355” / 9.01mm

The SkyFi Testing Process for Cables:

Cables are generally pretty simple and do not require a great deal of testing. We do, however, perform a visual inspection of all of the connectors for damage or significant wear. Most power and interconnect cables can be verified with a simple continuity test with a digital multimeter. Some cables feature dielectric bias systems which are powered by external power supplies or batteries. These devices are checked for proper function if applicable.

We do not perform A/B comparisons of cables in real world conditions and cannot offer objective observations in this regard.
