The Model T Signature is Bryston's top speaker in the best configuration possible, which is ACTIVE meaning there is no internal crossover.

The included BAX-1 active DSP crossover will do the job of dividing the frequencies at a line level with incredible detail, procession, and customization. Gone are the inefficiencies of speaker level crossovers and all of their associated compromises.

This particular pair came to us in near perfect condition with little signs of us. It is finished in a gorgeous walnut and features outriggers with spikes.

We tested the speakers with an array of Bryston amplifiers and received great results from them with no issues whatsoever. Please see our other Bryston listings for possible amplifiers - although you can certainly use any amplifier of your liking.

The Model T Active Loudspeaker combines decades of research into acoustics, electronics, amplification, and state of the art components to recreate your recordings with stunning realism. Fully active loudspeaker systems dispense with passive crossovers found in conventional loudspeakers in favor of inserting the crossovers before the amplifier. The benefits include increased flexibility of filter shapes, the ability to make fine-grained adjustments resulting in improved on and off axis response (these are often competing objectives in passive loudspeakers), direct coupling of the amplifier to the driver (avoiding losses inherent in passive crossovers), and higher SLP with lower distortion.

The Model T Active Loudspeaker requires the BAX-1 Active DSP Crossover and three amplifier channels per speaker. We recommend two 21B³ three channel amplifiers (one for each loudspeaker) to create a complete system. This combination will create an optimum listening experience. The SkyFi Testing Process for Speakers:

Our speaker evaluation process starts with a visual inspection of all drivers. We are looking for damaged or deteriorating woofer surrounds, dented tweeter domes, and cone damage. We also inspect the speaker connection points for loose or broken connectors.

After the initial visual inspection we connect the speakers to a reference amplifier with our preferred test tracks. With the speakers placed with proper distance we listen to each driver to make sure that they are producing the intended frequencies with no signs of distortion or rattle. During listening tests with test tracks we check for proper stereo imaging and bass response at various listening levels. If there are any audible signs of issues, the speakers are taken to the bench where we perform a frequency sweep to isolate the issue so that it can be resolved by component repair or replacement.
