McIntosh MC-402 Solid State Amplifier

The MC-402 is the predecessor to the MC-452, and just about as capable.  Featuring 400W it’s capable of driving just about any load. 

We especially like it paired to B&W 800 series speakers, and just about every other large full range speaker.  The previous owner was using it with the Revel Ultima Salons we have listed.

This particular sample came from the original owner who placed it in the same spot since new, where we retrieved it.

It is in mint condition, likely because it was covered when not in use.  It does not have a single scratch or scuff. 

The meters are bright and precise, and the glass and aluminum work is impeccable, just like the chrome on the chassis. 

On the bench this beauty exceeded our load capabilities (300W) and worked perfectly to specification.

We have ordered a new and super strong double box with plywood reinforcement from McIntosh (which is pretty expensive), but is the only way to ensure this heavy weight amp will arrive safely.
