KEF and Kenwood System of the Week
This system of the week is all Kenwood electronics with a pair of KEF speakers.
Kenwood fans will immediately recognize the super rare L-07D direct-drive turntable from seeing it in magazines, shows, and many dedicated websites - but have likely never seen one in person.
The L-07D was a "money is no object/no expense spared turntable" capable of supporting dual tonearms and came with a separate external control unit containing the power transformer. It actually weighs so much that it has handles built into the steel structure. Click here to download a PDF copy of the original brochure.
Also featured is a gorgeous KT-8300 tuner weighing in at almost 20 pounds (!), and a KA-7100 DC stereo integrated amp pushing 60 watts per channel with a THD of 0.02% and a signal to noise ratio of 110dB. Not bad for late 70's HiFi!
The speakers are one of the most recognizable models straight out of the 90's.
They are the KEF 105/3 which only produce their intended signature sound paired with KEF's matching outboard cube equalizer.
