While Technics makes some of the most outstanding turntables in the industry, we've noticed that the metallic industrial Japanese look just doesn't work in some living rooms.

To combat this, we first designed and commissioned a wood plinth that allows the SL-1300, SL-1200G, GR, and GR2 to blend nicely into a decor requiring a neutral wood tone, adding just the right amount of warmth while maintaining a sleek sophisticated look.  

However, the plinth does not allow for a hinged cover to be used. But frankly, one should never use a turntable with a hinged cover in place anyways as it acts like a large sail or microphone picking up all the acoustical energy in the air.

Our system allows you to use add a dust cover by simply placing it on top, like many other high-end turntables.

The acrylic cover just drops in place and fits perfectly within the wood plinth. It has enough clearance to accommodate higher arm height (VTA) and has cutouts on the sides to facilitate lifting.  

We used the highest quality acrylic available, much thicker than the stock cover.  It is crafted out of five individual pieces bonded together seamlessly, unlike the original cover which is molded out of one sheet. 

We have confirmed it will fit on the SL-1200G & SL-1210G, SL-1200GR & SL-1210GR, and the SL-1200GR2 &SL-1210GR2 - but it may fit on other models such as the SL-1500.
