This is a Super Rare, especially in this condition, Patrician speaker from the late 1950's. 70 years young!

It's perfect for the serious collector, or someone looking to assemble an outrageous mono setup.

Featuring all original drivers, tested and working perfectly in our shop lab and listening room.

The wood finish is stunning with a deep rich red mahogany glow. It's showing some fading on the right side, but still very good overall considering its age.

We cleaned the controls and brought it back to life, and it's effortlessly able to produce a full, detailed, and rich vintage sound.

The tag on the cabinet rear reads:

Electro-Voice
High-Fidelity
Loudspeaker Enclosure
Serial No. 154042
Electro-Voice, Inc. -Buchanan, Mich
Made In U.S.A

Flat $800 shipping within the lower 48 US States.

From a recent "System of the Week Feature" in our Friday Latest Arrivals email:

It's not every day that you come across vintage Electro-Voice speakers, let alone a Patrician Series IV from 1951! That makes it just *70* years young!

Designed by Roy R. Carlson, this was actually a Do It Yourself project and not something you could walk into Gimbel's or Macy's and take home in your Studebaker.

Ok sure, building a speaker isn't that difficult of a proposal... until you realize the Patrician stands over 5 feet tall, weighs at least 300 pounds, and is several feet in depth and width! A now-funny mention in the original manual tells you not to worry however, since "Electric power tools take away most of the hard work and let you concentrate on doing a good job!"

Some unique features include a 18WK Woofer, "The Vital Back Cone Cavity", The Very High-Frequency Spectrum, and the ability to just buy plans and source the materials OR a complete kit with large sheets of plywood.

"Building a Patriican with hand tools puts you own the same plane as Chippendale and Duncan Phyffe"(I had to Google that name and for good reason, Duncan Phyfe was one of America's leading cabinetmakers back in the late 1700's to mid 1800's.)
